Charlotte is me, Carla Tonini. For those who know me, I'm a restless Sagittarius.

Life took me to several places before I became Charlotte. In fact, to become Charlotte I had to transform from Susanita into Mafalda, and live in three wonderful cities: Buenos Aires, where I was born and where I was Susanita; Toronto, where I did postgraduate studies and became Mafalda; and the wonderful Girona, my place in the world, where Mafalda began to transform into Charlotte.

It is in this transition that I discovered my passion, creativity. I put it into practice in the tourism market by designing experiences for companies and individuals where, beyond the design process, I am lucky enough to be able to live them with them and thus witness the dream of the objective fulfilled. I love to travel. I love to see new places. I love to see my clients enjoy themselves.

At the end of 2018, about to complete my 42nd trip around the sun (the theory of septenaries applies perfectly to my life), I feel the need to create something tangible and that is where the crazy idea of creating shoes arises. I LOVE SHOES, especially flats, a personal brand.

It was in this learning process, taking full advantage of my teacher's knowledge, that I discovered my passion for sewing. This is how my handbag designs came about, taking advantage of my free time spent making shoes.

In my life I never stay "halfway" that is why I decided to undertake this new challenge as a business.

My inspiration comes from the leather itself, from seeing it and imagining what I can do with it. I draw a lot from European fashion and its trends and I adapt them to my personal style. Fashion is circular, it always comes back. In my wardrobe I have unique garments from more than 20 years ago, that is why my designs, although they follow trends, have a high degree of class that makes them timeless.

If there are trends that I don't agree with, you probably won't see them in my Atelier. I understand trends, but my style is quite marked.

Today, L'Atelier de Charlotte in Buenos Aires is a reality and my days are spent between molds and new designs of handbags and shoes. Now here in Girona, Charlotte Sacs is my new project.
